EDIT: Changed hands, smoothed out awkward hump on her back
Frankly, I had no idea what to submit this into. It's not really fanart, but it's still more Japanese-style art than American. (Those are the only two I can really frame easily in terms of comic book style)
Why insurgents? Well, because drawing rebels in ragtag clothing is more fun than doing uniforms. I was inspired to do this piece after seeing Buraisuko's AWESOME drawing 'Just scouts' (Found here: [link]
I've probably never spent so much time on a single drawing. I started sketching it out in Photoshop last night and finished it this evening... maybe 8 hours of work overall, with quite a few breaks in between. Normally I don't really stop in the middle of a drawing but it was just too hot. I personally am okay with the heat; there's no way Michigan's puny weather would be able to knock me down after living in Taiwan for 7 years, but my computer was on the verge of overheating during the afternoon.
The map is actually of Baghdad, for those that are curious. I don't have the skills to draw a map from scratch. And yes, I know you'd have to be a damn stupid insurgent to dress up in grey fur in a forest. (EDIT: Apparently grey is actually a good color for camouflage. Learn something new everyday.) But it looks cool, so there. Her left hand looks strange, I know. I'll try to fix that up.
Ah... I dunno what to say. I guess it's not fanart, for once? As always, comments and critiques are much appreciated!
